On July 1, 1999, I was honored to be appointed National Director of Lay Pastors Ministry Korea and received a plaque of appointment from Dr. Melvin J. Steinbron, founder and president of Lay Pastors Ministry Inc.(LPMI). On that historic occasion, I also officially launched the Institute of Lay Pastors Ministry Korea, marking the beginning of its ministry and mission in Korea.

Lay Pastors Ministry Korea was formally established on July 1, 1999, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. ByeongChea Seo, after several years of preparation, training, and ministry development. The vision was to equip laypeople for effective ministry and congregational care through the principles of Lay Pastors Ministry and PACE.
Beginning with a small group of dedicated lay leaders, LPM Korea gradually expanded its influence through training programs, seminars, conferences, and partnerships with churches across Korea and abroad. One significant milestone was the introduction of Lay Pastors Ministry to Hallelujah Church in late 1999, helping to promote the ministry model to a wider audience.
Over the years, LPM Korea has contributed to:
- Training lay pastors and church leaders.
- Promoting congregational care ministries.
- Developing PACE ministry concepts and leadership training.
- Supporting international ministry partnerships.
- Establishing educational institutions and ministry networks in various countries.
Today, after more than 25 years of ministry, LPM Korea stands as a testimony to God’s faithfulness, continuing its mission of equipping the saints, developing servant leaders, and extending ministry influence both in Korea and internationally. The ministry’s ongoing emphasis remains empowering ordinary believers to participate actively in caring for people, strengthening churches, and advancing God’s kingdom.

Over the years, God has graciously opened doors for ministry, leadership, theological education, and pastoral training across several nations. From the establishment of LPM Korea Institute in 1999 to the growth of international ministries, seminaries, universities, and CPE programs, this journey reflects God’s faithfulness and the commitment to equipping leaders for Christian service around the world.
